Kitchen Dishwasher

This role supports kitchen operations by ensuring all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment are cleaned and sanitized. By serving in this position, you directly help our kitchen staff who prepare hundreds of meals per day.

Kitchen Driver and Driver’s Assistant

These key roles are responsible for food donation pick-ups from our partner organizations. This allows us to prepare the 400-800 meals we serve daily for the men and women coming through our doors in despair, looking for food and shelter.

Kitchen Prep and Food Server

This role supports daily meal service with food prep work, minor kitchen cleaning, rotating food supplies, and serving meals. By serving in this position, you directly help our kitchen staff who prepare hundreds of meals per day.

Distribution Center Donation Drop-Off and Thrift Store Attendant

This role helps process incoming donations, organize the thrift store, and oversee the guest checkout area. No cash handling is required. By serving in the position, you become an instrumental part of providing those in need with clothing, shoes, and care items.

Office Cleaner

The Cleaning Support Volunteer will be in charge of light cleaning duties within our administrative office spaces. This is an important behind-the-scenes role in supporting the Mission’s work serving individuals experiencing homelessness and discipleship programs.

Event Support

The Good News Rescue Mission puts out nearly a dozen yearly events, one of them being our biggest fundraiser, Harvest of Hope. If you’d like to join in on the fun and help with event decoration and organization, please sign-up to volunteer.

Academic Support and Mentoring

Our Academic Center is dedicated to cultivating an environment for educational development, life skills, and workforce training to serve the students and guests of the Mission, offering classroom instructors which consist of highly qualified educators, business owners and retired executives. Mentors are also needed to come along side the men in our Bridge Discipleship Program. If you would like to pour into people and make connections, this would be a great opportunity to that.

Holiday Volunteer Opportunities

Holiday Decorator

This fun role will be involved with decorating our Dining Hall with holiday decorations on a monthly basis. This creates a more welcoming space in our Dining Hall where we serve 400-800 meals daily. Think hearts in February and flowers in May. It’s even more fun if you get a friend and do it together.

Holiday Event Support

November and December are some of our busiest months. We need help with our Thanksgiving and Christmas banquets, our turkey drives, the Christmas toy store, and the coat turkey giveaways.
