Community Empowerment Workshops

“If you want to end homelessness in Shasta County, give me five hundred healthy individuals who will commit 12 months to getting to know someone experiencing homelessness and it will completely re-shape the face of our community. – Jonathan Anderson

These workshops are designed to help equip you to effectively build relationships and provide peer support for men and women experiencing homelessness and poverty. After this workshop you’ll be better prepared to be able to sit down and have coffee with anyone at the Mission and support them in a healthy and productive way.

It’s an introduction to how to effectively minister to and support people experiencing homelessness and poverty.

We’ll tackled subjects like: inherited assets, poverty culture, the dreaded drama triangle, unspoken rules, and “Who’s role is it anyway.”

Next Workshop:

  • Saturday, April 13, 9:00am to 11:00am at The Stirring Church
