Christmas Toy Drive: Nov 20 – Dec 14
We need 900+ toys to help brighten the faces of children in our community. Each year we provide new toys for children in need, and we need your help to make it happen. Will you drop of new unwrapped toys for ages 0-12, boy and girl, (average value of $20) at the Good News Rescue Mission Administrative building 2842 S. Market Street, M-F 830am-430pm before December 14th. Click Here for more details.
Coats 4 Kids: Nov 20 – Dec 14
The City of Redding’s Solid Waste Utility, the Redding Fire Department, and Good News Rescue Mission are hosting the 22nd Annual Coats for Kids Donation Program to collect new and gently used coats for children and adults and redistribute them to local families in need.
From Monday, November 20th – Thursday, December 14th, donate new or like-new coats, hats, scarves, mittens, and other cold-weather items to North State kids and adults. New underwear and socks for men, women, and children in all sizes are also needed. All Items will be donated to the Good News Rescue Mission and given away on Friday, December 15th.
Curbside collection of donation items is available for City of Redding residents only. Wrap donations in waterproof, plastic bags clearly labeled “Coats for Kids,” and place them on top of your blue recycling cart. They will be collected on your regular collection day. Donation bins are also available at the City of Redding Transfer Station, the Main Lobby at Redding City Hall, the Good News Rescue Mission, any of the Redding Fire Department’s stations, or at Redding Electric Utility’s Customer Service Center
Christmas Banquet: Friday, December 22, 11am-2pm & 5pm-6pm.
Join us for the great Christmas Banquet. All are welcome for this free, festive, and delicious feast. We’ll be serving Ham, mashed potatoes, and all the sides. The Dining Hall is decorated, the festive music is ready, community leaders are scheduled with encouraging messages, and all we need is you! No reservations and no requirements. If you are looking for a place to enjoy a great community meal, then come on down to 3050 Veda St. (Entrance of Grange St.).
